SDS6000L Series

Flagship SDS6000A performance in a compact, screen-less chassis: 4 or 8 channels per unit, 500 MHz to 2 GHz at 5 GSa/s, and the ability to combine units into systems of up to 512 synchronised channels. Control it from an HDMI monitor, a web browser or full SCPI.

High channel count, small footprint

The SDS6000L takes the high-performance platform of the SDS6000A — 5 GSa/s (10 GSa/s ESR), up to 500 Mpts and 500 MHz to 2 GHz bandwidth — and puts it in a compact, low-profile chassis with 4 or 8 channels per unit and no built-in screen.

That form factor is the point: units are made to be racked, stacked and synchronised with the SYN64 module into systems of up to 512 channels. You drive them from an HDMI monitor, a web browser over Gigabit LAN, or full SCPI remote control — ideal for ATE, production and large multi-channel research setups.

Every analysis capability of the flagship is available by license: power analysis, eye-diagram & jitter, Bode plotting, deep serial decode, 16-channel MSO and a built-in generator — so a rack of SDS6000L units behaves like one very large, very capable instrument.

Features in depth

Built for expansion - up to 512 channels

Built for expansion — up to 512 channels

The SDS6000L is designed to grow. Each unit gives you 4 or 8 channels, and the SYN64 synchronisation module links multiple units together into a single, tightly-synchronised acquisition system — ideal for multi-rail power, multi-motor drives, antenna arrays and large ATE setups.

  • 4 or 8 analog channels per unit, all at 5 GSa/s
  • Combine units with SYN64 for systems of up to 512 channels
  • Tight inter-unit synchronisation for coherent multi-channel capture
  • Low background noise — usable down to 0.5 mV/div
  • Perfect for power-electronics, automotive and aerospace test benches
  • One software experience across every unit in the stack

Low-profile, rack-ready — control your way

There is no built-in screen: the SDS6000L is a compact, low-profile instrument made to live in a rack or behind an ATE system. You drive it exactly how it suits your workflow.

  • Connect an HDMI monitor (1280×800) for a full touch-style UI
  • Or control entirely from a web browser over Gigabit LAN
  • Full SCPI remote control (VXI-11, Telnet) for automated test
  • USB 3.0 & 2.0 hosts, USB device (USBTMC), keyboard & mouse
  • Compact chassis saves bench and rack space
  • Stack several units without a wall of screens

Power analysis and eye/jitter

Power analysis & eye/jitter

The same professional analysis suite as the flagship SDS6000A is available by license — turning the SDS6000L into a measurement workstation, not just an acquisition front-end.

  • Power analysis (SDS6000L-PA): switching loss, SOA, harmonics, ripple, efficiency
  • Eye diagram & jitter (SDS6000L-EJ) with mask testing and jitter decomposition
  • Bode plot for control-loop and filter characterisation
  • Deep 8 Mpts FFT for spectrum work
  • Search, Navigate, History, Mask Test, DVM, Counter, Waveform Histogram
  • 8-bit front end with ERES/Hi-Res up to 16-bit effective resolution

Generator, MSO & deep decode

Round out the bench with stimulus, digital channels and a complete serial-decode toolset — all on the same instrument.

  • Optional built-in 25 MHz arbitrary/function generator (SDS6000L-FG)
  • Add the SPL2016 logic probe for 16 digital channels (MSO)
  • Standard decode: I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN
  • Optional decode: CAN FD, FlexRay, I²S, MIL-STD-1553B, SENT, Manchester
  • Up to 500 Mpts memory for long, detailed records
  • SignalScan & History to find rare events fast

Frequently asked questions

What is the SDS6000L series?

A low-profile, expandable version of the high-performance SDS6000A. It offers the same 5 GSa/s acquisition and analysis in a compact chassis with 4 or 8 channels per unit, designed to be combined into large multi-channel systems.

Does the SDS6000L have a screen?

No — it has no built-in display. You control it through an external HDMI monitor (1280×800), a web browser over Gigabit LAN, or full SCPI remote control. That keeps the chassis compact and rack-friendly.

How many channels can it reach?

4 or 8 analog channels per unit. Using the SYN64 synchronisation module you can combine multiple units into a single system of up to 512 synchronised channels.

What bandwidths are available?

500 MHz, 1 GHz and 2 GHz, each in 4-channel and 8-channel versions, all sampling at 5 GSa/s per channel (10 GSa/s ESR).

Can it do mixed-signal and serial decode?

Yes — add the SPL2016 logic probe for 16 digital channels. I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN decode are standard; CAN FD, FlexRay, I²S, 1553B, SENT and Manchester are available as licenses.

Does it support power and eye-diagram analysis?

Yes — the SDS6000L-PA (power analysis) and SDS6000L-EJ (eye/jitter) licenses unlock the same pro analysis as the SDS6000A.
