How does a license key work?
Most options are software licenses tied to your instrument's serial number. You receive a key, enter it in the instrument's menu, and the feature unlocks immediately — no need to return the unit.
What can I unlock?
Depending on the instrument: bandwidth upgrades, serial-bus trigger & decode (I²C/SPI/UART, CAN/CAN FD, LIN, FlexRay, 1553B, SENT, Manchester, I²S…), power and signal analysis, MSO digital channels, an arbitrary waveform generator, EMI/real-time/modulation analysis, and frequency or I/Q upgrades on RF generators.
Do any options need hardware?
Most are pure software, but a few — such as MSO (which needs a logic probe) — include hardware. These are clearly marked on each instrument's options page.
My instrument isn't listed — can it still be upgraded?
Very likely. We're adding option pages for more series (including the latest HD scopes and RF generators). Contact us with your model and we'll confirm the available licenses and price.
How do I order a license?
