Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the SHA861A and SHA862A?

Frequency range: the SHA861A covers 9 kHz to 3.6 GHz and the SHA862A to 7.5 GHz. Everything else — the 8.4-inch platform, 110 MHz analysis bandwidth, OTA and analysis options — is identical, and the SHA861A upgrades to 7.5 GHz with the F2 licence.

How does the SHA860A differ from the SHA850A?

The SHA860A is a full handheld signal analyzer: up to 110 MHz real-time and IQ bandwidth, 5G NR and LTE over-the-air measurement, pulse analysis and coverage mapping. The SHA850A is a handheld spectrum analyzer with cable-and-antenna testing. Both share the 8.4-inch touch platform and 3.2 kg body.

Can it do 5G NR and LTE over-the-air testing?

Yes, with the NR and LTE options: 5G NR multi-PCI and multi-beam OTA analysis with constellation, and LTE FDD/TDD OTA with multi-PCI analysis — ideal for cellular install, drive test and coverage.

What real-time and IQ capability does it have?

With the B1A bandwidth option it reaches 110 MHz of real-time analysis at a 3.51 µs 100% POI, and the IQA option adds IQ data acquisition across that 110 MHz for offline analysis.

Can it test cables, antennas and act as a VNA?

Yes, as options: the CAT licence adds VSWR, return loss, cable loss and distance-to-fault; the VNA licence gives 1-path-2-port S11/S21 with 114 dB S21 dynamic range. An independent source and 12–32 V bias-out support tower-mounted-amplifier (TTA) testing.
