Siglent SDM4000A Series
The touchscreen generation: 5½ and 6½ digit bench multimeters with a 5-inch touch display, four view modes, reading rates to 50,000 rdgs/s and deep data logging — plus -SC models with a 16-channel scanner card.
Touch-driven operation, digitizer-class acquisition
The SDM4000A replaces button-and-menu navigation with a bright 5-inch multi-touch screen: tap a function, drag a range, swipe between views. Four display modes turn readings into insight — big digits, an analog-style bar meter, a live trend chart, or dual parameters of the same signal side by side.
Underneath is serious acquisition hardware: 220,000 or 2,200,000 counts, True-RMS, reading rates from 4,800 up to 50,000 per second on the SDM4065A with its digitize mode and 2-million-reading memory — deep enough to catch inrush currents and power-up transients that ordinary meters average away.
Display modes & measurement functions
Switch with a tap — numerical, bar and trend views plus the analysis functions that turn readings into results.

The classic big-digit view — with a secondary display for a second parameter.

Analog-style bar for nulling, peaking and adjustment by eye.

A live strip chart of readings over time, straight on the meter.

The distribution of your readings — noise and stability visible at a glance.

Min/max/average and standard deviation, plus pass/fail limit testing per measurement.

High-speed sampling up to 50,000 rdgs/s into 2M readings (SDM4065A) — catches inrush and transients.

Time-stamped logging to internal memory or USB, with export and analysis via EasyDMM.

The reading freezes automatically when you lift the probes — measure first, read afterwards.
Sixteen channels — including real current inputs
The factory-installed SC1016 scanner card in the SDM4055A-SC and SDM4065A-SC provides 16 channels: 12 multi-purpose (CH1–CH12) plus 4 dedicated current channels (CH13–CH16) — so current loops and shunts scan alongside voltages and temperatures without external switching.
- DCV/ACV, DCI/ACI, 2/4-wire Ω, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity, TC/RTD temperature
- Automatic scans with time-stamped logging to memory or PC
- Configured on the touch display — channel list, functions and limits per channel
- Factory-installed only — not a field upgrade; pick -SC if scanning may ever be needed
Four models — speed, precision, channels

Frequently asked questions
What is the difference between the SDM4055A and SDM4065A?
Resolution and speed. The SDM4055A is a 5½-digit meter (220,000 counts) reading up to 4,800 rdgs/s; the SDM4065A is 6½ digits (2,200,000 counts) at up to 50,000 rdgs/s with a digitize function and autozero. Both share the 5-inch touch display, four view modes and deep data logging.
How is the SDM4000A different from the SDM3000X series?
Three things: a 5-inch touchscreen with four display modes instead of the 4.3-inch keypad interface, much higher reading rates (to 50,000 rdgs/s vs 10,000), and a 16-channel scanner option instead of 12 channels — including 4 dedicated current channels.
What does the -SC scanner card add?
The factory-installed SC1016 card gives 16 channels: 12 multi-purpose (CH1–CH12) plus 4 current channels (CH13–CH16) — scanning DCV/ACV, DCI/ACI, resistance, capacitance, frequency, diode, continuity and TC/RTD temperature with time-stamped logging.
Can the scanner card be added later?
No — like the rest of the family, the scanner is factory-installed only and cannot be retrofitted. If multi-point scanning may ever be needed, choose the -SC model from the start.
What is the digitize function on the SDM4065A?
A high-speed sampling mode that captures waveform-like data at up to 50,000 readings per second into a 2-million-reading memory — enough to see inrush events, power-up transients and slow ripple that a normal DMM reading would average away.
Can I control them remotely?
Yes — USB and LAN with SCPI are standard, EasyDMM covers PC logging and export, and a USB-GPIB adapter is available. Every unit ships with a factory calibration certificate; accredited DKD/DAkkS calibration is optional.
