SDS-5000X-ARINC decoding activation license
Siglent SDS-5000X-ARINC is a ARINC 429 decode, 12.5 to 100 kbps — decode only, no trigger option for the SDS5000X.
SDS-5000X-ARINC — ARINC 429 decode (no trigger)
ARINC 429 decode, 12.5 to 100 kbps — decode only, no trigger.
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own.

What this option does
What it does
Decodes ARINC 429 at 12.5 to 100 kbps with a 1 to 20 % rate tolerance, in the L/SDI/D/SSM, L/D/SSM or L/D word formats, from the analogue channels. On the SDS5000X it is a decoder only: capture with an edge or pulse-width trigger and the decoder reads the words.
What you use it for
ARINC 429 is a one-way broadcast bus, so the practical question is usually whether a particular label is present, correctly formed and arriving at the right rate.
In practice
During integration a display ignores altitude data. Decoding a long capture shows the altitude words present and well formed but arriving at half the expected rate — which points at the transmitting unit.
⚠ Decode only — the SDS5000X has no ARINC 429 trigger. Decoding uses analogue channels C1 to C4 only, not the SPL2016’s digital channels.
Decode details
From the SDS5000X data sheet.
| Trigger | None — decode only. Capture with an edge, pulse-width or pattern trigger. |
| Bit rate | 12.5 to 100 kbps, tolerance 1–20 % |
| Word formats | L/SDI/D/SSM, L/D/SSM, L/D |
| Decode from | Analogue channels C1–C4 only |
| Decoders at once | 2, full duplex |
| Standard on every SDS5000X | I²C, SPI, UART, CAN, LIN — no key needed |
Compatibility
The option runs on every SDS5000X model, at every bandwidth. It is newer than Siglent’s 2019 data sheet, so an instrument from that period needs current firmware first.
| Channels | 350 MHz | 500 MHz | 1 GHz |
|---|---|---|---|
| 4-channel | Compatible | Compatible | Compatible |
| 2-channel | SDS5032X (no longer made) With current firmware | SDS5052X (no longer made) With current firmware | SDS5102X (no longer made) With current firmware |
The 2-channel SDS5032X, SDS5052X and SDS5102X are no longer made; their keys remain available. The SDS5000X HD is a different series with its own option keys.

Questions about SDS-5000X-ARINC
Can I trigger on ARINC 429 data?
No. On the SDS5000X ARINC 429 is decode only. Capture with an edge, pulse-width or pattern trigger, and the decoder reads what was captured.
Can I decode from the SPL2016 logic probe?
No. ARINC 429 decodes from the analogue channels C1 to C4 only.
Does it work on an older SDS5000X?
Siglent’s 2019 data sheet does not list ARINC 429, so an instrument from that period needs current firmware before the key can be used. Send us the serial number and we will confirm before you order.
Which protocols are already included?
I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN trigger and decode are standard on every SDS5000X. CAN FD, FlexRay, I²S, MIL-STD-1553B and SENT are trigger-and-decode keys; CAN XL, Manchester, ARINC 429 and SpaceWire are decode-only keys. Two decoders run at the same time.
How is the licence delivered?
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own. Add the instrument’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards — the key is issued against it.
Can I return a licence?
Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure which key you need, ask us first — with your serial number we can confirm it.
Not sure this is the right key?
Send us your serial number and what you want to measure. We will confirm the exact option before you order.
