1.5 GHz passive probe, 10:1
At 1.5 GHz the SP6150A is the fastest passive probe Siglent make — three times the bandwidth of a conventional 500 MHz probe, and it gets there by working differently. Input capacitance is 1.8 pF, close to what an active probe achieves, at a fraction of the price.
The trade is the input resistance: 500 Ω, not 10 MΩ. This is a transmission-line probe, so it loads the circuit resistively and is meant for low-impedance, high-speed nodes — terminated lines, clock distribution, fast digital signalling. Maximum input is 8.5 V. It is emphatically not a general-purpose probe, and on a high-impedance node it will change what you are measuring.
Before you order
Read the input resistance before you order. 500 Ω is a real load. On a high-impedance node this probe will pull the signal down and give you a wrong answer — that is what the 10 MΩ passive probes and the active probes are for. Use it on driven, low-impedance lines.
