Siglent HPB4010 high-voltage probe: 10 kV DC, 20 kV pulse, 7 kV RMS, DC–40 MHz, 1:1000, ±3%. Single-ended.

10 kV high-voltage probe, DC–40 MHz, 1:1000

The HPB4010 measures up to 10 kV DC — or 7 kV RMS sine, or 20 kV peak-to-peak pulse — on a standard oscilloscope input, at a 1:1000 attenuation ratio with ±3% accuracy and 40 MHz of bandwidth.

It is a single-ended probe: the return lead goes to the circuit’s ground reference, which must be at or near earth potential. For a floating or mains-referenced high-voltage measurement, use a differential probe instead. Where the ground is valid, this reaches voltages nothing else in the range touches — and does so at a fraction of the cost.

Before you order

This is a single-ended probe — its ground lead goes to earth-referenced ground. Do not use it across a floating or mains-referenced node. For those, use a differential high-voltage probe, which has no earth reference at its tips.

Application examples

High-voltage power supply development

Output and node voltages on supplies operating in the kilovolt range, where a 1000 V probe is nowhere near enough.

Ignition, plasma and X-ray equipment

Pulse amplitudes to 20 kV peak-to-peak with enough bandwidth to see the pulse shape rather than an envelope.

Electrostatic and insulation testing

High-voltage, low-current measurements where 100 MΩ of input impedance keeps the loading negligible.

CRT, tube and legacy equipment service

Anode and accelerator voltages that no ordinary probe can reach safely.
