Siglent SDS5000HD-6BW3T5 6-ch, 350 MHz to 500 MHz bandwidth upgrade (software)
Raises the analogue bandwidth from 350 MHz to 500 MHz by key — no hardware change. For the 6-channel SDS5000X HD.
SDS5000HD-6BW3T5 — 350 MHz to 500 MHz, 6-channel
Raises the analogue bandwidth from 350 MHz to 500 MHz by key — no hardware change.
A bandwidth upgrade is a licence, not a board swap. The analogue front end is already capable of the higher bandwidth; the licence removes the limit in firmware. The instrument stays on your bench, keeps its serial number and calibration history, and the change takes effect as soon as the code is entered.

What this option does
What it does
A software key that turns a 350 MHz SDS5000X HD into the 500 MHz model. The acquisition hardware is common to the series, so the upgrade is entered on the instrument rather than fitted to it. There is one key per channel count — 4, 6 or 8 channels — so order the one that matches your instrument.
What you use it for
More bandwidth than you bought, for faster edges and higher-frequency content, without replacing an instrument that is otherwise doing its job.
In practice
A bench bought for motor-drive work picks up a gate-driver job with edges around a nanosecond. At 350 MHz a noticeable part of the rise time on screen is the oscilloscope’s own; at 500 MHz much less of it is — and the instrument keeps its calibration history, its probes and its place on the bench.
The supplied 500 MHz passive probes match this upgrade.

Compatibility
This key fits exactly one instrument. Find yours in the table: the row is the channel count, the column the bandwidth it has today.

The SDS5000L low-profile models have their own option keys. The 6-channel models are supplied on request.

Questions about SDS5000HD-6BW3T5
Which instrument does SDS5000HD-6BW3T5 fit?
The SDS5036X HD — the 6-channel, 350 MHz model. After the key is entered it is the SDS5056X HD. The keys are specific to the channel count, so a 6-channel key does not suit a 4, 6 or 8-channel instrument other than its own; the SDS5000L has keys of its own.
Do I need different probes after the upgrade?
No. The probes supplied with the instrument are rated 500 MHz, which matches this upgrade.
Does the upgrade affect calibration?
The instrument keeps its serial number and its calibration history. If your quality system requires a calibration after a specification change, we can arrange ISO or DKD/DAkkS calibration.
How is the licence delivered?
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own. Add the instrument’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards — the key is issued against it.
Can I return a licence?
Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure which key you need, ask us first — with your serial number we can confirm it.
Not sure this is the right key?
Send us your serial number and what you want to measure. We will confirm the exact option before you order.
