SSG3000X Plus-21BW32 — upgrade an SSG3021X Plus to 3.2 GHz
A software key that raises the top frequency of an SSG3021X Plus from 2.1 GHz to 3.2 GHz — the full range of the SSG3032X Plus, on the instrument you already own.
The 2.1 and 3.2 GHz models share their hardware; the key unlocks the upper band. After activation the generator covers 9 kHz to 3.2 GHz with the same 0.01 Hz resolution, the same level range up to +20 dBm and the same modulation set. That takes in the 2.4 GHz ISM band with room above it for harmonic and out-of-band work.

Which instrument it is for
For the SSG3021X-IQE Plus use the SSG3000X-IQE Plus-21BW32 key instead; the 3.2 GHz models need no key.
This key is for the SSG3021X Plus. The IQE model takes the SSG3000X-IQE Plus-21BW32, and the earlier SSG3021X (without Plus) takes the SSG3000X-21BW32. The codes are not interchangeable.

Is it cheaper to buy the 2.1 GHz model and upgrade?
No. SSG3021X Plus plus this key comes to €3,998; the SSG3032X Plus costs €3,499 — €499 less. The key is for when the need for 3.2 GHz arrives after the purchase.
Does the hardware change?
No. It is a software key; the instrument stays on your bench and keeps its calibration.
Is the performance identical to an SSG3032X Plus afterwards?
The data sheet gives one set of specifications for the series, with the frequency range as the only difference between the two models.
Does it fit the SSG3021X-IQE Plus?
No — that model has its own key, SSG3000X-IQE Plus-21BW32, which also extends the IQ mode.
