Siglent SDS2000HD-BW2T3 Bandwidth Upgrade 200 MHz to 350 MHz for SDS2204X HD (software licence)
Siglent SDS2000HD-BW2T3: software key that upgrades an SDS2204X HD oscilloscope from 200 MHz to 350 MHz on all four channels. No hardware change.
SDS2000HD-BW2T3 — upgrade an SDS2204X HD to 350 MHz
A software key that raises the bandwidth of an SDS2204X HD from 200 MHz to 350 MHz on all four channels.
Bandwidth decides which edges the oscilloscope can show. At 200 MHz the instrument’s own rise time is 1.7 ns; at 350 MHz it is 1 ns. An edge of 2 ns that the 200 MHz instrument stretches visibly is drawn close to its real shape after the upgrade, and ringing above 200 MHz that was filtered away becomes visible.
Nothing else changes: 12 bits, 2 GSa/s, 200 Mpts and every installed option stay as they are, and the supplied probes are already rated 500 MHz. The upgrade is the route for a requirement that arrives after the purchase — bought new, the SDS2354X HD is the cheaper way to 350 MHz, as the comparison below shows.

What the key adds
350 MHz on four channels
The full bandwidth of the SDS2354X HD, in interleaving and non-interleaving mode.
1 ns rise time
Typical instrument rise time goes from 1.7 ns to 1 ns.
Software only
Issued for the serial number; no hardware change and no recalibration.
Leaves the way open to 500 MHz
The SDS2000HD-BW3T5 key takes an instrument at 350 MHz on to 500 MHz later.
Which oscilloscope it is for
The key for the 200 MHz model. An SDS2354X HD is 350 MHz as delivered and needs no key. Keys for other Siglent series have their own order codes and are not interchangeable.
The data sheet gives 55 µVrms at 200 MHz and 65 µVrms at 350 MHz. That is physics, not a defect: a wider front end passes more noise. When you measure ripple rather than edges, switch the channel’s 200 MHz or 20 MHz limit on and the lower figure is back.
What it costs against the alternative
| SDS2204X HD + this key | €2,280 + €780 = €3,060 |
| SDS2354X HD bought outright | €2,880 |
| Difference | €180 more via the upgrade |
Prices ex VAT. The key exists for a requirement that changes after the purchase, not as a way to spread the cost.

From the SDS2000X HD data sheet EN02B. I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN trigger and decode are standard on the series; all other protocols are listed on the licences page.
How it is delivered
1 · Send us the serial number
A software key is generated for one instrument. Add the serial number to the order, or mail it afterwards.
2 · Receive the key
The licence key is delivered by e-mail — nothing is shipped and nothing leaves your bench.
3 · Enter it on the oscilloscope
Enter the key in the options menu; the new bandwidth is shown in the instrument’s system information and stays with that unit.
Questions about the SDS2000HD-BW2T3
Is it cheaper to buy the 200 MHz model and upgrade?
No. An SDS2204X HD plus this key comes to €3,060; the SDS2354X HD costs €2,880 — €180 less. The key is for when the need for 350 MHz arrives later.
Is an upgraded SDS2204X HD the same as an SDS2354X HD?
The data sheet specifies the series by bandwidth: at 350 MHz the rise time is 1 ns, the noise floor 65 µVrms and the ENOB 8.4 bit, whichever way the instrument got there.
Does the instrument have to be sent in?
No. It is a software key; the oscilloscope stays on your bench and keeps its calibration.
Can I go on to 500 MHz afterwards?
Yes, with the SDS2000HD-BW3T5 key. Bought together the two steps cost the same as the direct SDS2000HD-BW2T5 key.
Do I need other probes?
No. The probes supplied with the oscilloscope are rated 500 MHz.
What do you need from me?
The serial number of the oscilloscope. The key is generated for that instrument only.
Not sure which bandwidth key your oscilloscope takes?
Send us the model and serial number and tell us the fastest edge you need to see. We confirm the right key before anything is ordered.
