Product overview

The SDG2082X is a dual-channel function / arbitrary waveform generator with up to 80 MHz bandwidth, a 1.2 GSa/s sample rate and 16-bit vertical resolution. SIGLENT’s proprietary TrueArb and EasyPulse techniques solve the weaknesses of traditional DDS generators when producing arbitrary, square and pulse waveforms — giving you high-fidelity, low-jitter signals.

Two fully independent channels deliver up to 20 Vpp with an 80 dB dynamic range, and a rich feature set — AM/FM/PM/FSK/ASK/PSK/PWM modulation, sweep, burst, harmonic generation, 196 built-in arbitrary waveforms and a high-precision frequency counter — is presented on a bright 4.3-inch touchscreen. Standard USB and LAN interfaces (with optional GPIB) make the SDG2082X equally at home on the bench and in an automated test rack.

TrueArb technology

With SIGLENT's TrueArb technology, the generator keeps all the advantages of DDS while overcoming its serious weaknesses of jitter and distortion. Because TrueArb builds arbitrary waveforms point-by-point, every data point stored in memory is used to create the output — no points are missed or repeated — so arbitrary waveforms have very low jitter, below 150 ps. Any 8-point to 8-Mpts waveform can be output at a sampling rate from 1 μSa/s to 75 MSa/s, giving fine control over complex, high-fidelity signals for demanding and evolving applications.

EasyPulse technology

When a pulse is generated by a conventional DDS instrument, a one-clock jitter appears whenever the sampling rate is not an integer multiple of the output frequency. SIGLENT's EasyPulse technology overcomes this weakness to produce genuinely low-jitter pulse and square waveforms, and brings a wide range and extremely high precision to pulse-width and rise/fall-time adjustment. The result is clean edges and stable timing for demanding digital, timing and communication applications.

High-performance sampling system

Benefiting from a 1.2 GSa/s sampling rate and 16-bit vertical resolution, the SDG2000X achieves extremely high accuracy in both the time and amplitude domains, reconstructing waveforms more precisely and with lower distortion. Combined with up to 20 Vpp output amplitude and an 80 dB dynamic range, it delivers high-fidelity signals across the full bandwidth. Two fully independent channels, a bright 4.3-inch touchscreen and 196 built-in arbitrary waveforms round out a versatile everyday bench instrument.
