Siglent SDM4055A 5.5 Digits 4800 rdgs/s digital multimeter
The Siglent SDM4055A is a professional-grade 5½ digit digital multimeter designed for high-accuracy measurements in R&D, calibration labs, production testing, and electronics repair. Featuring a sharp 5-inch touch TFT display, fast reading rates up to 4,800 rdgs/s, and advanced data logging up to 2 million readings, the SDM4055A blends performance with usability.
SDM4055A — 5½ digit touchscreen multimeter
The SDM4055A brings the touchscreen generation to the everyday bench: 5½ digits and 220,000 counts read at up to 4,800 readings per second, on a 5-inch multi-touch display with four view modes. Tap a function, drag a range, swipe to a trend chart — and log everything.
Technically it is a complete bench instrument: DC and AC voltage to 1000 V (True-RMS), DC and AC current to 10 A, two- and four-wire resistance, capacitance, frequency and thermocouple/RTD temperature, with selectable integration time to trade speed against noise. Statistics, histogram, limit testing and dB/dBm maths run on the meter; time-stamped data logging fills the internal memory or a USB stick; and USB plus LAN with full SCPI make it a drop-in for automated racks alongside the free EasyDMM software.

Application examples
R&D and product development
Engineers developing precision analog circuits rely on the SDM4055A for tracking minute voltage fluctuations, verifying noise performance and validating sensor outputs under changing conditions. Data logging and the math/statistics functions make it easy to monitor behaviour over time or run automated test routines.
Repair and calibration
The wide measurement range and dual display serve technicians repairing power supplies, calibrating instrumentation or validating sensor outputs — while continuity and diode tests with audio feedback make tracing circuit connections fast.
Environmental and thermal testing
Thermocouple and RTD inputs with built-in cold-junction compensation give test labs precise temperature readings, and long logging intervals characterise components across full temperature cycles.
Battery and power-supply analysis
Measure battery voltage drift, current draw or ripple in AC power systems with precision — the trend-chart and histogram views visualise transient behaviour and slow changes without any additional software.
Built around the touchscreen

Four views on a 5″ multi-touch display
Numerical, bar meter, trend chart and histogram — switch with a tap. True-RMS AC, 2/4-wire resistance, capacitance, frequency and TC/RTD temperature are all built in.

Deep data logging
Time-stamped logging to internal memory or USB stick, with EasyDMM handling export and analysis on the PC — leave it measuring overnight and read the story in the morning.

Who it’s for & why
Choose the SDM4055A when the bench needs one meter that does everything at development pace: enough resolution (5½ digits, 220,000 counts) to verify rails and references, enough speed (4,800 rdgs/s) that logged captures show real behaviour rather than averages, and a touch interface that makes range and view changes instant instead of a menu excursion. It replaces a handheld, a logger and a PC utility in one calibrated instrument — which is exactly why it earns a permanent spot on R&D and production benches.
- R&D and development benches
- Production & QA stations
- Education & advanced labs
- Automated racks (USB/LAN, SCPI)
- Fast logged rail & sensor measurements
- Power-supply accuracy and ripple checks
- Component verification (2/4-wire Ω, capacitance)
- Trend and histogram analysis on the meter
