SPL-C1 — spare clips for the SPL2016 and SLA1016 logic probes

A set of twenty grabber clips in a storage case, for the flying leads of Siglent’s logic probes — the same clips, and the same number, that come with a new SPL2016.

A logic probe reaches the circuit through sixteen thin flying leads. Each lead ends in a socket, and what actually holds on to the board is a small spring-loaded clip pushed onto it: it hooks over an IC leg, a header pin or a test loop and stays there while you work. The clips are the part of the kit that is handled most, and the part that is easiest to lose.

The SPL-C1 is that part on its own. It replaces a set that has thinned out over the years, or gives you a second one, so that a board can stay clipped up while the probe is used somewhere else.

What is in the set

Twenty clips

Two rows of ten grabber clips — the same quantity that comes with a new SPL2016.

In a hinged case

The clips sit in a small case with a clear lid, so the set stays together in the drawer and in the probe bag.

For the flying leads

Each clip pushes onto the end of one of the logic probe’s flying leads and hooks onto a component leg or a test point.

Clips only

No leads, no cable assembly, no probe: this is the wearing part of the kit, sold separately.

Which logic probes it fits

Both of Siglent’s current logic probes use the same clips. The oscilloscope decides which probe you have; the clips are the same for either.

When a second set earns its place

Clips go missing

They are the smallest part of a logic probe and the first to disappear into a bench or bend on a tight pin. A spare set costs far less than the hour spent looking.

Leave one board wired

With a second set, the clips stay on the board under test while the leads and the oscilloscope move to the next job, and come back to exactly the same sixteen nodes.

Shared equipment

In a teaching lab or a shared bench the probe comes back with fewer clips than it left with. A set in the cupboard keeps all sixteen channels usable.

Questions about the SPL-C1

How many clips are in the set?

Twenty, in a storage case. That is the quantity Siglent delivers with a new SPL2016 logic probe, so one SPL-C1 replaces the complete set.

Does it fit the SLA1016 as well?

Yes. Siglent lists the SPL-C1 for the SPL2016, the SLA1016 and other digital test leads. Our price list names the SPL2016 only, but it is the same clip.

Does a new SPL2016 or SLA1016 come with clips?

Yes, both are delivered with their clips. The SPL-C1 is a spare or a second set, not something you need to add to a new probe.

Are leads or the cable included?

No. The set contains the clips only. If a flying lead or the cable assembly of your logic probe is damaged, tell us what broke and we will check what can be supplied.

Will the clips fit logic probes of other brands?

Siglent says they fit “other digital test leads” without naming any. We have not tested other brands; if you can tell us the lead you want to use them on, we will tell you what we know before you order.

Why would I want more than twenty?

Sixteen channels plus ground leads use most of one set. A second set lets you leave a board clipped up between sessions, or wire two boards and move only the leads.

Missing more than the clips?

If a lead, a breakout connector or the cable of your logic probe is damaged, tell us the probe and the oscilloscope it is used on. We will check what Siglent can supply as a part and what a new probe costs.
