SDS5000L-FlexRay — FlexRay trigger & decode

Software licence — activated by key, no hardware

FlexRay trigger and decode at 2.5, 5 or 10 Mbps.

Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own.

What this option does

What it does

Triggers on the transmission start sequence, a frame, a symbol or an error, and decodes FlexRay at 2.5, 5 or 10 Mbps or a custom rate, from the analogue channels.

What you use it for

FlexRay’s value is timing determinism, so the useful question is usually whether a frame arrived when it should have — a question about time, which is what an oscilloscope answers.

In practice

A chassis-control node loses frames intermittently. Triggering on errors captures the event together with the differential waveform, so a physical-layer cause can be told apart from a scheduling one.

Questions about SDS5000L-FlexRay

Does the SDS5000L have digital channels for this?

No. The SDS5000L has no digital inputs; every decoder reads the analogue channels C1 to C8. The SPL2016 logic probe fits the SDS5000X HD bench models, not the SDS5000L.

Which protocols are already included?

I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN trigger and decode are standard on every SDS5000L. CAN FD, FlexRay, I²S, MIL-STD-1553B, SENT, ARINC 429 and Manchester are keys. Up to two decoders run at the same time.

How is the licence delivered?

Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own. Add the instrument’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards — the key is issued against it.

Can I return a licence?

Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure which key you need, ask us first — with your serial number we can confirm it.

Not sure this is the right key?

Send us your serial number and what you want to measure. We will confirm the exact option before you order.
