Mechanical OSLT calibration kit for vector network analysers: open, short, load and through standards in N-type female, specified DC–4.5 GHz into 50 Ω

N-type female, DC – 4.5 GHz

The F503FE is a a mechanical OSLT calibration kit: open, short, load and through standards in N-type female, specified from DC to 4.5 GHz into 50 Ω.

A vector network analyser does not measure your device — it measures everything between its own receivers and your device, including the cables you fitted and every connector in between. Calibration is how that gets removed. You present standards whose behaviour is known precisely, the analyser measures them, and it then solves for the errors in the path. The reference plane moves from inside the instrument to the end of your cable, which is where your device actually starts.

Discrete standards. The open, short, load and through arrive as separate precision pieces. It is the classic arrangement and the lower-cost one; the Y-series kits hold the same standards in a single integrated body.

Siglent F503FE N-type female OSLT VNA calibration kit

What it calibrates

  • SNA5002A and SNA5004A — the 4.5 GHz Type-N vector network analysers
  • SVA1000X series, for its vector network measurements
  • SSA3000X-R series, for vector network analysis and distance-to-fault

Gender matters

This kit is female only, so it mates with male interfaces.

Connector, gender and frequency are Siglent’s own, from the price list and the SNA5000A, SNA6000A and SNA5000X-E ordering tables. Siglent does not publish per-kit residual figures such as directivity or load match — if your application depends on them, ask us and we will request them from the factory.

Siglent’s own classification

Keysight equivalent: Siglent state that this kit’s performance is very similar to the 85032B/E, and that it can be used as an approximate replacement — or that the 85032B/E standard definitions can be used in the analyser. Useful if your procedures are already written around the Keysight kit.

The datasheet also publishes the full C0–C3, L0–L3 and delay coefficients for every standard, which is what you enter if you define this kit manually on an analyser that does not already know it. Ask us and we will send them.

Reading the model number

Siglent’s codes are systematic once you know the pattern, and it tells you what you are buying at a glance:

One of the eight kits the SVA1000X and SSA3000X-R accept

Those two series support a restricted list of calibration kits — the 4.5 GHz and 9 GHz single-gender kits in both connector types, and nothing above them. The F503FE is on that list. The TS kits, the Y-series and the 18 GHz and 26.5 GHz kits are not, so if you are buying for an SVA1000X or an SSA3000X-R this is a kit you can order with confidence.

All twenty-one mechanical kits, with a table matching every Siglent analyser to the kit it needs, are on the VNA mechanical calibration kits page. Electronic calibration is covered on the calibration kits overview.

Not sure this is the right kit?

Three things decide it: your analyser’s test-port connector, your top frequency, and the gender of the cables you calibrate to. Tell us the model and we will confirm which kit fits before you order — and whether an ECal module would serve you better.
