Siglent SDS6000L-CANXL CAN XL decode (software)
Siglent SDS6000L-CANXL is a CAN XL decode in SIC and Fast mode, XL data phase to 20 Mbps — decode only. For the SDS6000L. ( license option )
SDS6000L-CANXL — CAN XL decode (software)
CAN XL decode in SIC and Fast mode, XL data phase to 20 Mbps — decode only.
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own.

What this option does
What it does
Decodes CAN XL frames with transceivers in SIC mode or Fast mode: nominal bit rates from 10 kbps to 10 Mbps, FD data-phase rates from 500 kbps to 10 Mbps and XL data-phase rates from 500 kbps to 20 Mbps, or custom rates, from the analogue channels or the SPL2016’s digital channels. It is a decoder only: capture with an edge, pulse-width or pattern trigger and the decoder reads the frames.
What you use it for
CAN XL is the third generation of CAN, with payloads to 2048 bytes and a faster data phase than CAN FD. Bringing up a network that mixes classical CAN, FD and XL frames means seeing each frame named and split into ID, length and data, next to the differential waveform.
In practice
A new XL node is added to an existing FD network and an older ECU starts reporting errors. The decoded capture shows the XL frames and the error frames that follow them, with time stamps, so the fault is placed at the phase switch rather than guessed at.
⚠ Decode only — there is no CAN XL trigger on this series. The key is generated for the serial number of the oscilloscope.

Questions about SDS6000L-CANXL
Can I trigger on CAN XL data?
No. On the SDS6000L CAN XL is decode only. Capture with an edge, pulse-width or pattern trigger, and the decoder reads what was captured.
Can I decode from the SPL2016 logic probe?
Yes. CAN XL decodes from the analogue channels or from the SPL2016’s 16 digital channels.
Which protocols are already included?
I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN trigger and decode are standard on every SDS6000L. CAN FD, CAN XL, FlexRay, I²S, MIL-STD-1553B, SENT, Manchester, ARINC 429, SpaceWire and USB 2.0 are keys.
How is the licence delivered?
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own. Add the instrument’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards — the key is issued against it.
Can I return a licence?
Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure which key you need, ask us first — with your serial number we can confirm it.
Not sure this is the right key?
Send us your serial number and what you want to measure. We will confirm the exact option before you order.
