Siglent SDG3162X – 160 MHz Dual-Channel Arbitrary Waveform
The SDG3162X is a two-channel arbitrary waveform generator offering 160 MHz bandwidth, 1.2 GSa/s sampling, 16-bit resolution and up to 20 Vpp output. Double-pulse output characterises MOSFET and IGBT switching, sequence playback and up to 40 Mpts memory handle long records, and AM/FM/PM/ASK/FSK/PSK/PWM, PRBS and optional IQ/vector cover communications and digital test — all on a 7-inch touchscreen.
Product overview
The SDG3162X is a high-performance dual-channel arbitrary waveform generator with up to 160 MHz bandwidth, a 1.2 GSa/s sample rate and 16-bit vertical resolution. TrueArb and EasyPulse technologies overcome the limitations of DDS designs, producing high-fidelity arbitrary waveforms and low-jitter pulses — ideal for power-device testing, digital development and signal-integrity work.
Two channels deliver up to 20 Vpp, with sequence playback, dual/multi-pulse output, AM/FM/PM/ASK/FSK/PSK/PWM modulation, sweep, burst and PRBS to 120 Mbps. Optional IQ/vector, Multi-Tone, Chirp and 40 Mpts memory extend it further. A large 7-inch capacitive touchscreen, a built-in frequency counter and USB/LAN with a web server make the SDG3162X equally at home in R&D, education and production.

Features in depth
Dual-pulse for power-device testing
The SDG3000X’s dual-pulse feature is designed for advanced power-electronics testing. It generates two precisely timed pulses with adjustable width, interval and edges, so you can evaluate the switching parameters, dynamic characteristics and safe operating area of devices such as MOSFETs and IGBTs. Combined with a digital oscilloscope, double-pulse testing becomes a powerful method for analysing switching losses, measuring reverse-recovery times and optimising power converters and inverters. Multi-pulse output extends this to sequences of up to 30 pulses for more complex switching scenarios.

Sequence playback & TrueArb
TrueArb generates arbitrary waveforms point-by-point so no data point is skipped or repeated, preserving fine detail across a wide frequency range, while EasyPulse keeps square and pulse edges low-jitter. On top of this, powerful sequence playback strings together up to 1024 waveform segments with five run modes and per-segment repeat, wait and jump control — ideal for replaying long, real-world or protocol-like stimulus without exhausting memory. Up to 40 Mpts of waveform memory per channel (optional) keeps even very long records intact.
IQ / vector signal generation
With the optional EasyIQ upgrade the SDG3000X becomes a compact vector signal source, generating ASK, FSK, PSK and QAM formats with symbol rates up to 50 MSymb/s and carriers up to 200 MHz. Built-in and custom I/Q data make it well suited to receiver and transmitter testing, data-communication analysis and teaching digital modulation. Combined with PRBS3–PRBS32 patterns to 120 Mbps and optional Multi-Tone and Chirp generation, one instrument covers a wide span of communication and high-speed digital test needs.
