Working accessory kit for the 5 GHz and 8 GHz probes
The working kit for the 5 GHz and 8 GHz differential probes — tips, wire and, most importantly, the lead resistors.
The lead resistors are the important part. At these frequencies a bare wire from probe to node is a transmission line with a mismatch at both ends; a series resistor at the tip damps the resulting reflection and stops it appearing on your trace as ringing the circuit is not actually producing.
