Siglent SNA6000-PV performance tests option (software)
Performance verification for the SNA6000A VNA: Quick PV with a short and load, port power and receiver tests, adjustment with a power meter. Pass/fail.
SNA6000-PV — performance tests
A built-in performance-verification routine for the SNA6000A: check port output power and receiver accuracy against limits with a pass/fail result per item — between calibrations, after transport, or on arrival.
Utility → Self Test → Performance Verification opens three tabs. Quick PV checks each test port with just a short and a load from a calibration kit. PV runs the full list per port: output-power precision, output-power linearity and measurement-receiver precision. Adjustment realigns source and receivers against a power meter and calibration standards. Every item ends in a pass or a fail, so the state of the analyser is known before a measurement campaign rather than after it.

What this option does
What it does
Runs Siglent’s own verification procedures on the instrument: a quick port check with two standards, the complete performance test per port, and an adjustment task that corrects source power and receiver response with a power meter.
What you use it for
Incoming inspection of a new or returned analyser, a check after shipping or a knock, periodic verification between accredited calibrations, and a documented pass before a production run or a long measurement series.
In practice
An analyser comes back from a field job. Quick PV with a short and a load takes a few minutes per port and shows every item green — or shows the port that needs attention before anyone trusts a result from it.
PV is a verification, not an accredited calibration: a certificate with traceable uncertainties still comes from a calibration laboratory — see our ISO / DKD calibration service. Quick PV needs only a short and a load. The Adjustment task needs a power meter (R&S NRP18A up to 13.5 GHz; NRP18A plus NRP33S on the 26.5 GHz models), a 10 dB attenuator, cables, adaptors and open, short and load standards — two loads on a 2-port analyser, four on a 4-port.
What is in the verification package
Quick PV
A short and a load per port, a guided connection sequence, and a result in minutes.
Full PV
Output-power precision, output-power linearity and measurement-receiver precision, listed and run per port.
Adjustment
Realigns source power and receivers against a power meter and calibration standards.
Pass / fail per item
Each test item shows its status and parameters in the dialog.
Per-port selection
Choose which test ports to verify — one, several or all.
Wizard
The dialog prompts each connection; no external PC or script is needed.
Power-meter supported
R&S NRP18A / NRP33S sensors for the adjustment task.
Repeatable
The same routine every time, so results from different dates and sites compare.
Specification
From the SNA6000A data sheet and user manual.

Compatibility and activation
Works on all eight SNA6000A models; the 26.5 GHz models need the second power sensor (NRP33S) for the adjustment task.
Supplied as a licence key issued against the analyser’s serial number — nothing to fit and nothing to return. Enter it under System → Options → License…, or load the .lic file from a USB stick. Ordered together with a new SNA6000A, Siglent activates it at the factory.
Questions about SNA6000-PV
Is this a calibration?
No. It verifies the analyser against Siglent’s limits and adjusts source and receivers; it does not issue a traceable certificate. For that, book an ISO or DKD calibration.
What do I need to run it?
Quick PV: a short and a load. Full PV and Adjustment: a power meter (R&S NRP18A, plus NRP33S for the 26.5 GHz models), a 10 dB attenuator, cables, adaptors and open, short and load standards.
Does the free self-test not cover this?
The standard self-test covers keys, touchscreen, screen and LEDs. The performance tests behind the PV tab are the licensed part.
Can I verify just one port?
Yes. Ports are selected in the dialog, so a suspect port can be checked on its own.
Is it the same as SNA5000-PV?
Same software, different licence: SNA5000-PV activates the SNA5000A, SNA6000-PV the SNA6000A.
How is the licence delivered?
Supplied as a licence key issued against the analyser’s serial number — nothing to fit and nothing to return. Enter it under System → Options → License…, or load the .lic file from a USB stick. Ordered together with a new SNA6000A, Siglent activates it at the factory. Add the analyser’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards.
Can I return a licence?
Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure, ask us first.
