SDS5000HD-ARINC — ARINC 429 trigger & decode
ARINC 429 trigger and decode, 12.5 to 100 kbps.
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own.
What this option does
What it does
Triggers on word start or end, a label, a label plus data, an error or individual bits, and decodes ARINC 429 at 12.5 to 100 kbps with a 1 to 20 % rate tolerance, in L/SDI/D/SSM, L/D/SSM or L/D word formats.
What you use it for
ARINC 429 is a one-way broadcast bus, so the practical question is usually whether a particular label is present, correctly formed and arriving at the right rate.
In practice
During integration a display ignores altitude data. Triggering on the altitude label shows the words are present and well formed but arriving at half the expected rate — which points at the transmitting unit.
Decoding uses analogue channels C1 to C8 only, not the SPL2016’s digital channels.

Can I decode from the SPL2016 logic probe?
No. ARINC 429 decodes from the analogue channels C1 to C8 only.
Which protocols are already included?
I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN trigger and decode are standard on every SDS5000X HD. CAN FD, FlexRay, I²S, MIL-STD-1553B, SENT, ARINC 429 and Manchester are keys. Up to two decoders run at the same time.
How is the licence delivered?
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own. Add the instrument’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards — the key is issued against it.
Can I return a licence?
Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure which key you need, ask us first — with your serial number we can confirm it.
