What it is
The test fixture for single-pair automotive Ethernet (IEEE 802.3bw 100BASE-T1 and 802.3bp 1000BASE-T1) on the SDS7000A: it presents the device under test at the defined test points for the droop, clock frequency and jitter, distortion, power spectral density, peak output, MDI return loss, mode conversion and common-mode emission tests run by the SDS7000A-CT-100BASE-T1 and SDS7000A-CT-1000BASE-T1 options. A test fixture is the physical half of a compliance test. A compliance limit is defined at a specific point, into a specific impedance, with specific terminations; improvising that with probes and adapters produces numbers that cannot be compared against the standard. The fixture makes the set-up the one the specification describes. It is hardware and is shipped; the matching software option must be licensed on the oscilloscope.
What you use it for
Automotive Ethernet carries camera, radar and infotainment traffic over one unshielded pair; the OEM test specifications are strict and the measurements are defined at the fixture, not at a probe tip.
In practice
A zonal gateway fails an OEM conformance test on transmitter distortion. Reproducing the test on the bench with the fixture shows the same failure, and a termination change is verified the same day rather than at the next test-house slot.
Pair it with SDS7000A-CT-100BASE-T1 and/or SDS7000A-CT-1000BASE-T1 (sold separately); MDI return loss needs a vector network analyser. Hardware, not a licence.

Questions about FX-AMETH
Is the software included?
No. The fixture is the hardware half; the matching SDS7000A-CT software option is a separate licence and must be installed on the oscilloscope for the test suite to run.
Does it work with other oscilloscopes?
Siglent specify it for the SDS7000A with the corresponding compliance-test application. The fixture itself is passive and presents standard test points, but the automated suite that uses them runs on the SDS7000A.
How is it delivered?
As hardware, shipped from the Netherlands with the invoice from the official EU distributor. Add the oscilloscope’s serial number to your order if you buy the matching software option at the same time, so that key can be issued against it.
