Siglent SDS5000HD-SPMI SPMI decode (software)
Siglent SDS5000HD-SPMI is a SPMI decode — the MIPI power-management bus read from SCLK and SDATA, decode only. For the SDS5000X HD. ( license option )
SDS5000HD-SPMI — SPMI decode (no trigger)
SPMI decode — the MIPI power-management bus read from SCLK and SDATA, decode only.
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own.

What this option does
What it does
Decodes the MIPI System Power Management Interface from its clock (SCLK) and data (SDATA) lines on the analogue channels, showing the commands, slave addresses, register addresses and data a host exchanges with its power-management ICs instead of a train of edges. It is a decoder only: capture with an edge, pulse-width or pattern trigger.
What you use it for
SPMI is how the application processor in a phone, tablet or battery-powered SoC design talks to the PMICs that gate every rail on the board. A rail that comes up late or not at all is usually a command that was sent wrong, sent late or never acknowledged.
In practice
A board browns out during modem activity. The decoded SPMI traffic shows a register write to the buck converter arriving after the load step rather than before it — a firmware ordering problem, visible next to the rail on the adjacent channel.
⚠ Decode only — the SDS5000X HD has no SPMI trigger. Decoding uses analogue channels C1 to C4, not the SPL2016’s digital channels.
Trigger and decode details
Siglent added this decoder to the SDS5000X HD after data sheet EN01A; the figures are those Siglent publish for the same decoder on the SDS3000X HD and SDS6000L, and the price list 2026_4 lists the key.

Questions about SDS5000HD-SPMI
Can I trigger on SPMI data?
No. On the SDS5000X HD SPMI is decode only. Capture with an edge, pulse-width or pattern trigger, and the decoder reads what was captured.
Can I decode from the SPL2016 logic probe?
No. SPMI decodes from the analogue channels C1 to C8 only.
Which protocols are already included?
I²C, SPI, UART, CAN and LIN trigger and decode are standard on every SDS5000X HD. CAN FD, FlexRay, I²S, MIL-STD-1553B, SENT, ARINC 429, Manchester, CAN XL, SpaceWire and SPMI are keys. Up to two decoders run at the same time.
How is the licence delivered?
Supplied as a licence key issued against the instrument's serial number. There is no hardware to fit and nothing to return: the code is entered in the instrument's own menu and the function is available immediately, on the instrument you already own. Add the instrument’s serial number to your order, or send it to us afterwards — the key is issued against it.
Can I return a licence?
Software licences and activation keys are delivered electronically and are excluded from the 14-day EU return right once the key has been issued. If you are unsure which key you need, ask us first — with your serial number we can confirm it.
Not sure this is the right key?
Send us your serial number and what you want to measure. We will confirm the exact option before you order.
