250 MHz passive probe, 600 V CAT III
The PB925 is the safety-rated probe of the passive range: 600 V CAT III and 1000 V CAT II, where every other passive probe here stops at 300 or 400 V CAT II. It is the probe supplied with the SHS1000 handheld oscilloscopes, and the one to take into a cabinet.
Bandwidth is 250 MHz at a fixed 10X with 16 pF at the tip. That capacitance is higher than the bench-oriented probes here, which is the trade the insulation and creepage distances demand — a CAT III probe is physically a different object from a CAT II one, not the same probe with a different label.
Worth knowing
The category matters as much as the voltage. CAT III describes distribution-level transient energy, not just a higher number of volts — a probe rated 1000 V CAT II is not safe on a 1000 V CAT III circuit. Match the category to where you are probing first. For floating or mains-referenced nodes, no passive probe is appropriate; use a differential probe.
