The Siglent SNA5004A brings four true test ports to the 9 kHz–4.5 GHz band, letting you capture all sixteen S-parameters of a device in a single connection — the practical way to characterise differential pairs, baluns, couplers, filters and multi-port modules without re-cabling between sweeps. Balanced and mixed-mode measurements, single-ended-to-differential conversion and full four-port SOLT/TRL calibration make it a signal-integrity workhorse rather than a simple two-port reflectometer.

Product overview

The SNA5004A is a 4-port vector network analyzer covering 9 kHz – 4.5 GHz with up to 125 dB of dynamic range. Full S-parameters, 1 Hz frequency resolution and an IF bandwidth from 10 Hz to 3 MHz make it a precise, complete instrument for RF and microwave component and network characterisation.

Beyond magnitude-and-phase S-parameters it adds differential, receiver and time-domain (TDR/TDT) analysis, five sweep types, automatic fixture removal for de-embedding and limit / ripple testing. Built-in bias-tees and a large 12.1-inch capacitive touchscreen round out an automation-ready platform — with optional spectrum-analysis, mixer, gain-compression, pulse and material-measurement modes activated by licence.

Linear-frequency, log-frequency, power-sweep, CW-time and segment-sweep modes give full control over stimulus, resolution and acquisition time.

Bias-tees for active devices

Built-in bias-tees feed DC to amplifiers and other active parts through the RF port, and gain-compression and pulse options extend active-device testing.

You’ll need a calibration kit

A vector network analyzer is only as accurate as its calibration. The SNA5004A does not include a calibration standard — pair it with an ECal module or a mechanical cal kit (rated for 4.5 GHz) so you can measure to a trusted reference plane from day one.

Accuracy depends on it

A VNA measures relative to its calibration plane. Calibration removes the errors of the cables, adapters and connectors between the instrument and your device — without it, S-parameter readings can’t be trusted.

Re-done whenever things change

You re-calibrate every time the cabling, frequency span, output power or temperature changes, so a good kit is used constantly — it is essential, not optional, for any VNA.

Electronic (ECal) or mechanical

One-connection SEM-series ECal modules calibrate in seconds, or use precision N-type, 3.5 mm and 2.92 mm mechanical kits as reference standards.

Software licences & options

Full calibration (SOLT, SOLR, TRL, ECal), impedance conversion, fixture simulation and five sweep types are standard. These eleven licences expand the SNA5004A into spectrum, mixer, gain-compression, pulse and material measurement — all activated electronically.
